Who We Are

Arts Enter Cape Charles is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1997 in Cape Charles, Virginia, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

The organization is managed and directed entirely by volunteers and governed by a 17-member Board of Directors, among which are five executive officers.

 

Arts Enter has two full time employees: Office Manager Ginnie Parker and Director of Dance Christina Conrad.

Our MissionOur mission is to encourage and promote education, interest, and appreciation for the Fine and Performing Arts through quality instruction and training and to create positive artistic experiences by providing a safe and professional environment for an underserved and geographically isolated community.

What We Offer

The Historic Palace Theatre is alive with activities, classes and productions year-round. Our listing of the season is posted on our website, sent out by newsletter and publicized weekly in The Eastern Shore News and on the local radio stations. Our endeavors include:

Dance
The Arts Enter School of Dance, under the direction of Christina Hardy, offers a variety of dance classes for all ages. Mrs. Hardy is a highly qualified instructor with a B.A. Degree in Dance Pedagogy, the study of dance instruction.

Production
Every season, Arts Enter is proud to present at least five theatrical productions unveiling local talent. Artistic Director Sheila Cardano, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, is also a playwright and has written and directed several original plays.

Fine Arts
Arts Enter offers several classes in painting, pottery, drawing and quilting. The Stage Door Gallery, adjacent to the Historic Palace Theatre, offers many exhibitions of local artists.

Our Future

Arts Enter has completed a number of restoration projects at the 65 year old Art Deco theatre over the last ten years. We are currently undergoing a major expansion project that will provide additional space for the growing arts center.
